About Us

Licia Clifton-James is a Kansas City, Missouri, up-and-coming artist that works in watercolor, acrylic, oil and ink printing. She began a re-exploration of watercolor painting during the Covid Pandemic and added working in acrylics shortly thereafter. Licia has a series in production of watercolor portraits that relay the range of emotions from outside influences on the human facial expressions. In addition, she has a series being created in acrylic that are depictions of guards at their posts through the world. She is still exploring the reason behind her interest in world guards at their posts and what they are fulfilling within her own psyche. She began her exploration into oil painting in the Spring of 2025 and displays a work in progress on this webpage. In the past she dabbled in various types of printmaking and she includes on this webpage a study of the September 11, 2001, tragedy in color ink prints. Finally, Licia takes commissions for family and individual portraits, as well as pet portraits.
